What is Stowly?
A marketplace where people in Canada rent out unused garages, basements, sheds, driveways and lots to neighbours who need storage or parking.
How does payment work?
You pay by card each month through Stripe: the host's monthly price plus a 15% service fee. Hosts are paid out monthly to a Canadian bank account.
How do I pick the right size?
A 5′ × 5′ fits boxes and a set of tires. A 10′ × 10′ fits a one-bedroom's furniture. A 10′ × 20′ fits a car. RVs and boats usually need 12′ × 35′ or more of outdoor space. The size guide has more.
What's the difference between Instant book and Request?
Instant-book spaces are confirmed as soon as you pay. Other hosts review each request first; once they accept, you pay to confirm.
How do I cancel?
Cancel a request any time before you pay. After that, end the rental from your dashboard; it stops at the end of the month you've paid for.
What can't be stored?
Spaces are for storage and parking only. Nobody can live or work in them, and hazardous, illegal, stolen or perishable items aren't allowed. Hosts can set stricter rules.
